Describe the feature you'd like

For my purpose (IT documentation) it would be very helpful to be able to add even more information to books, chapters and pages via freely definable metadata. The following components would be relevant as data fields: dropdown, text fields, date fields, checkboxes. These data fields should be able to be captured in a structured manner directly under the title.

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

Structured data collection that is also helpful in the search for content and offers more possibilities than tags.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Not within the needed quality

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

3 months to 1 year

Thanks for the request @HelloGithubUniverse,
This has existing related prior requests via #5275, #3505, #1552.

As per those threads, I'm not too keen on expanding metadata further beyond tags.
If you need strong structured data then I think that's better served via an external/other platform/system rather than us expanding the scope to take on that complexity.
