I am actively seeking help regarding scaling my ManageIQ production environment. Here is my current setup and requirements:

Current Environment

• Single EC2 node hosting both:

  • PostgreSQL database
  • ManageIQ appliance

Goals and Requirements

• Managing approximately 50 AWS providers
• Integrating one VMware provider
• Ensuring high availability
• Optimizing performance

Specific Questions

1. For handling this workload:

   • How many nodes would you recommend?
   • What CPU/RAM configuration is advised per node?
   • How should workers be distributed across nodes?

2. Regarding adding new nodes to our existing appliance:

   • What is the recommended procedure for adding new nodes?
   • How to migrate the database to a distributed configuration?
   • Are there any particular precautions to take during migration?
